Pikes' Philosophy

Pikes Peak SCEA Chapter Philosophy

Tentative Mission Statement:  Provide a forum to improve/standardize/maintain the cost estimating and analysis environment in the Pikes Peak region.

Tentative Vision Statement:  Provide a forum to accomplish the mission through speakers, training, networking, mentoring, and creation of a reference library.

The Pikes Peak Chapter of SCEA strives to achieve excellence in providing services in the following three categories for their members.

1.Provide monthly training on  topics of interest at the local level through monthly luncheons         1. Assist members in attaing their certifications 1. Provide networking forum
2. Provide access to study materials that assist the member in achieving certification 2. Mentor young analystrs in both the cost industry and in achievin professional goals 2. Provide a forum for publishing
3. Provide anual training by bringing in subjec matter experts to train on SCEA exam topics 3. Develop and distribute a Quick Reference Guide that assists the analysts in applying the right solution for the problem at hand 3. Augment the body of cost estimators through internships
4. Making CostPROF© available to those who wish to study via electronic media 4. Provide trainig for future cost estimators through volunteer talks at local schools
    

Training, Professionalism, and Opportunity are the hallmarks of the Pikes Peak SCEA Chapter.  Helping members take advantage of these through various venues is the chief goal of the chapter in the initial years.  The founding chapter members recognize that building a Quick Reference Guide is an effort that will take about a year to accomplish, and desire to gain inputs across all companies represented in the chapter.
